District Administration observes ‘International Disabilities Day’

Mangalore, Dec 4, 2013: Dakshina Kannada District Administration jointly with Women and Children’s Development Department, Zilla Panchayat observed, ‘International Disabilities Day’ at St Sebastian Hall Platinum Jubilee Hall on December 3, Tuesday.

Dinesh Shetty and Murlidhar Naik inaugurated the event along with other dignitaries on the dais.

Speaking on the occasion, ZP president Koragappa Naik said that celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities must not just restrict to once in a year, but must be celebrated every and provide them the basic facilities.

During the occasion, differently abled achievers and their teachers were felicitated.

Joint commissioner Gokuldas Naik presided over the event.

Gertrude Veigas, president of Women and Child welfare department welcomed the gathering.

District Governor Ln K C Prabhu, Dr Rajeev Holla, Ln Ganesh Shetty, Dr Manohar Hegde Mumbai, Ashok Chowta and Urmila Ramesh Kumar were also present.
