Depleting water levels in Thumbay dam causes concern

Mangaluru, April 06, 2024: Amid scorching heat, water level in Thumbay vented dam is depleting. On Friday, water level dropped to 5.07 meters. The water level at AMR dam has decreased to 17.10 meters. Though MCC has taken steps to pump water from Harekala dam to Thumbay dam, there has been a decline in water level at Thumbay.

With the current water level, the water may last only upto 45 days. The City Corporation also has plans to introduce water rationing.

Meanwhile supply of water through tankers has been underway to many areas affected by water scarcity.
