New Delhi, Jul 11, 2026: Mumbai Police received a threat call on Saturday claiming that the Red Fort in Delhi would be blown up. The information was shared with the Delhi Police control room.
Upon investigation, police found that the threat call was a hoax.
Authorities have not reported any further security concerns following the investigation.
A month earlier, a threatening email was sent to the official email account of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Mayor, prompting a security response from the Delhi Police, officials said.
The email warned of possible explosions at certain locations across Delhi and nearby areas, leading authorities to take immediate precautionary measures.
Police personnel, along with the Bomb Disposal Squad and Dog Squad, conducted a comprehensive anti-sabotage search at the civic centre that houses the Mayor’s office.
The security check covered the entire premises, including office areas, common spaces and parking facilities. After an extensive inspection, officials confirmed that no suspicious objects or explosive materials were found.
The building was later declared safe by authorities.
