Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, July 13, 2026: The Kankanady Town Police have arrested an accused who had been absconding after changing his address despite the court issuing 14 arrest warrants against him.

The arrested accused has been identified as Chandra Shekhar Lingaraj Bovi (26), a resident of Bovi Colony in Santhe Maidan, Bhadravati.

Abscond

Police said the accused had obtained bail in a case registered at the Kankanady Town Police Station in 2024 but had been absconding for the past one-and-a-half years. The Principal District and Sessions Court had issued arrest warrants against him on 14 occasions. However, he allegedly kept changing his address and managed to evade arrest.

Acting on credible information, Kankanady Town Police warrant staff members Balraj and Ravikumar traced the accused at Maidaalu in Malligehalli near Balehonnur on July 11 and took him into custody.

The arrested accused was later produced before the court.
