Daylight burglary in Shiroor; thieves decamp with jewellery

Kundapur, July 11, 2023: Thieves who broke into a house at Shiroor during broad daylight on July 10, Monday afternoon, have decamped with jewellery worth over Rs 3 lakhs.

 

The theft occurred when the Rakesh Patagar couple to whom the house belonged had gone to the college where they worked as teachers, after lunch. The thieves who entered from the back door, have stolen the jewellery including a Mangalasutra and ear rings.

The thieves had reportedly attempted burglary in another house by breaking the door, but escaped after nearby residents raised a cry.

The increasing thefts in Shiroor area has worried local residents.
