Bengaluru, Oct 24, 2025: Karnataka is likely to experience heavy rainfall today. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for three districts and a yellow alert for 27 districts.
Rain is expected to continue along the coast. Heavy showers are likely in the South Interior, North Interior, coastal, and Ghats regions, while Bengaluru may receive light rain, the department said.
In the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada, heavy rainfall is expected, prompting the issuance of an orange alert. With wind speeds potentially reaching 30–40 km/h, fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea as a precaution.
In the South Interior districts of Chitradurga, Davanagere, Ballari, and Vijayanagara, rain accompanied by thunderstorms and winds of 30–40 km/h is expected. Bengaluru Urban and Rural may experience light rain with occasional thunder.
Other districts expecting light rain include Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Shivamogga, and Tumakuru.
In the North Interior districts of Belagavi, Dharwad, Bagalkote, Raichur, Yadgir, Kalaburagi, and Vijayapura, heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and winds of 30–40 km/h is forecast. Bidar, Gadag, Haveri, and Koppal districts may receive rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
