Gurupura: 3rd Moolur–Addur Jodukare Kambala inaugurated

Mangaluru, Apr 4, 2026: The 3rd edition of the Moolur–Addur twin-track Kambala at Gurupura commenced on Saturday at Manibettu Guthu. The event was held under the अध्यक्षship of Inayath Ali, President of the Moolur–Addur Jodukere Kambala Committee and KPCC General Secretary.

Inaugurating the event, Anantha Padmanabha Asranna, priest of Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple, said that just as buffaloes hold importance in Kambala, spectators too play a vital role. He urged everyone to come together to support Kambala, which represents the identity of Tulunadu.

He also lauded Inayath Ali as a noble and large-hearted leader who treats all communities with love, adding that through Kambala, he is showcasing the culture of Dakshina Kannada on an international platform.

Speaking after lighting the ceremonial lamp, Ajith Rai Malady, President of Bantara Yane Nadavara Mathru Sangha, said that the third edition of the Kambala under Inayath Ali’s leadership is being conducted in a unique and distinctive manner compared to other Kambalas.

The inaugural function was presided over by Inayath Ali.

On the occasion, financial assistance amounting to ₹25 lakh was distributed for social causes such as marriages and house construction for underprivileged families.

Raj Kumar Shetty Thiruvailu Guthu, Founder President of the Gurupura Kambala Committee, welcomed the gathering. The programme was compered by Vijeth Shetty Manjanadi and Manoj Vamanjoor.
