Nine family members killed as car plunges into well in Maharashtra’s Nashik

Nashik, Apr 4, 2026: In a tragic incident, nine members of a family, including five students, lost their lives after their Ertiga car plunged into a well in a field while returning home from a private tuition reunion held at a wedding hall in Dindori town of Maharashtra’s Nashik district on Friday night.

Police and emergency personnel rushed to the spot and retrieved the vehicle and the victims around midnight with the help of 
cranes and swimmers.

Car falls into well


The deceased belonged to the Dargude family from Indore village in Dindori taluka. They have been identified as Sunil Dattu Dargude (32), his wife Reshma, Asha Anil Dargude (32), and six children — five girls aged between seven and 14, and an 11-year-old boy.

The bodies were shifted to the government hospital in Dindori. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
