Mangaluru, Oct 25, 2025: Police have arrested the accused involved in the stabbing of two youths near a bar in Kana, under the Surathkal police station limits, where an attempt to murder was made.
On the night of August 23 at around 10:30 p.m., near Deepak Bar in Kana, Surathkal, a group attacked Hasan Mukshit and Nizam with knives over a trivial issue. The assailants — identified as Gururaj Achari, Alex Santosh, Nithin, and Sushanth, all of whom have criminal backgrounds — allegedly attempted to kill the youths.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sushanth of Kana, Surathkal, K.V. Alex (27), and Nithin (26). Police have also taken into custody Arun Shetty (56) for providing shelter to the accused.
However, the main accused, Gururaj Achari, and another man named Ashok, who also gave refuge to the suspects, are absconding, and efforts are on to trace them.
The arrests were made under the direction of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) Sri Ravishankar, and the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police (North Sub-Division) Sri Srikanth K. The operation was led by Surathkal Police Inspector Pramod Kumar P.
The team included PSIs Raghavendra Naik, Janardhan Naik, Shashidhar Shetty, ASIs Rajesh Alva, Taranath, Radhakrishna, and staff members Annappa, Umesh Kumar, Tirupati, Ajith Mathew, Ramu K., Karthik, Vinod, as well as officials from the CCB unit, SAF team, and dog squad, who all assisted in tracing and investigating the accused.
