Mangaluru, Oct 25, 2025: From October 27, Air India Express will launch a new flight service between Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram. Available three days a week, this service will make travel between the two coastal cities faster and more convenient. Currently, the journey by train takes around 9 hours, but the flight will reduce it to just 80 minutes, giving a significant boost to business, tourism, and personal travel.
At present, the Vande Bharat Express provides high-speed rail connectivity between these cities, covering 620 km in approximately 8 hours and 40 minutes. With the new flight service, travelers can save more than 7 hours.
The Mangaluru International Airport expressed its excitement about the new route, stating on social media:
"Connecting one coast to another, where nature, culture, and serenity meet."
Mangaluru already has direct flights to cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Bahrain, Doha, Jeddah, and Kuwait, and now Thiruvananthapuram joins the list.
