Mangaluru, Oct 24, 2025: At a firecracker shop in the Bajpe area, a case has been registered at the Bajpe Police Station against Prashanth alias Pacchu, a rowdy-sheeter and accused in the Fazil murder case, along with his accomplice, for allegedly demanding weekly protection money without paying for purchased firecrackers.
On October 22, the accused reportedly intimidated the shop owners to hand over money and demanded firecrackers without payment. The shopkeepers initially stayed silent out of fear, but one of them later approached the police to lodge a complaint.
Prashanth, who had recently been associated with the late Suhas Shetty, is a known rowdy-sheeter in Bajpe. His accomplice, Ashwith, reportedly does not have a criminal background but has now become involved with the rowdy sheeter and filed a case.
Police Commissioner Sudheer Reddy, in a statement, warned citizens not to associate with criminals or get involved in crimes. He emphasized that law enforcement will take action if warnings are ignored, stating, “If you don’t heed our advice, we know what needs to be done. We will do our job. Follow the law, and there will be no problem. Do whatever you wish, but the police will carry out their duty.”
