Mangalore, February 21: Mavalli Shanker, the chief convener of the Karnataka Dalitha Sangarsha Samithi, alleged that the state government is misusing funds and serving the cause of Swamijis, temples, and Mutts alone.

During a press conference organized at Kandaya Bhavan, on Feb 21, Sunday, Mr. Shanker complained that, besides misusing public treasure and public resources, the state government is also ignoring the grievances of Dalits, labourers, and farmers. He also criticized the ban on cow slaughter.


The Samithi has decided to stage a state-level protest on Feb 26, Friday to demand the empowerment of Dalits. The Samithi will stage protests in all taluks and districts to fight for their rights. Mr. Shankar said that the organization will not give up till it reaches its goals.
