DC directs all departments to gear up for monsoon eventualities

Mangaluru, May 15, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan has instructed the authorities to take all precautionary measures to mitigate hardships during natural calamities.

He was addressing a meeting of the Disaster Management Authority at his office on Tuesday. The DC directed the MESCOM to quickly respond to any grievance relating to electricity during heavy rains. All grievances must be solved within six hours, he added.

On the water shortage facing the district, the DC said affected places are receiving water through tankers. He also directed to impose penalty on those wasting water.

He further directed the departments concerned to clear all drains and ensure there are no artificial floods. The Health Department must also take precautionary measures against the spread of Dengue, Malaria and other vector borne diseases, he said.

ZP CEO Dr Anand, SP Rishyanth, MCC Commissioner Anand, DCP Siddarth Goyal, DCF Antony and other officials were present.
