Divine bliss can be experienced through music: Swami Jitakamanandaji

Mangaluru, September 8, 2026: Music has the power to provide divine bliss as well as physical and mental peace, said Swami Jitakamanandaji, president of Ramakrishna Math, Mangaluru.

He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Raga Sudha’, a celebration of Hindustani classical music organised by Kalasadhana in association with Ramakrishna Mission at the Ramakrishna Math here on Sunday.

Swami Jitakamanandaji said music has been an integral part of human life since the beginning of creation. He noted that Swami Vivekananda had studied music and was also a great lover of it.

He appreciated the Kalasadhana team for choosing the serene surroundings of Ramakrishna Math to organise the Raga Sudha music festival and wished the programme success.

Former Legislative Council member Ganesh Karnik, Adani Group Executive Director Kishore Alva, Dakshina Kannada District Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Bhoomaraddi, renowned cardiologist Dr Mohan Pai, former MRPL Group General Manager Krishna Hegde, Assistant Conservator of Forests Prashanth Pai, Shakti College, Shaktinagar, Administrator Ramesh, Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists Association president Pushparaj B.N. and immediate past president of Mangaluru Rotary Central Bhaskara Rai Katta were present at the inaugural ceremony.

Kalasadhana director Vibha Srinivas Nayak welcomed the gathering, while Panduranga Acharya proposed the vote of thanks. Srinivas Nayak Indaje compered the programme, and Smitha introduced the artistes. The artistes were also felicitated on the occasion.

Renowned Hindustani vocalist Aditya Modak of Pune presented the musical performance. He was accompanied on tabla by Akshay Joshi of Bengaluru, on harmonium by Satish Bhat Heggaar of Yellapur, and on tanpura by Karthik and Pradaya of Mangaluru.
