Mangalore, Jan 25, 2014: Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim has enlisted measures and issued suitable instructions to solve the various problems confronting the District Wenlock Hospital.
Participating in the Executive Committee meeting of the Arogya Raksha Samithi of the Hospital, the Deputy Commissioner also directed the District Medical Officer to prepare a master plan for the overall development of the hospital. He also took serious cognizance of the failure of the contractor concerned to complete the construction of the 15 bed emergency ward of the hospital even three years after payment of Rs 14.22 lakhs out of the Rs 17.45 lakh estimate and suggested that a complaint should be lodged with the Consumer Forum after cancelling the contract.




When Wenlock Superintendent Dr Rajeshwari drew the attention of the DC towards the various problems of the hospital like water and underground drainage problem, the DC directed that necessary measures be taken after consulting the MCC Commissioner. The medical officer informed that the budget estimate for the jail ward extension of the hospital has increased from Rs 1.3 crores to Rs 1.52 crores.
The DC also informed that ID cards for Endosulfan affected people would be distributed at the Primary Health Centres of the district from January 25 to February 14.
