Mangalore, Nov 19, 2011: Addressing reporters at the DK District Congress Committee (DKDCC) office today, MLA U. T. Khader remarked that Congress leaders were happy when DVS took over as the CM of Karnataka, but are now disappointed because he has not yet completed any project beneficial for the district.
Explaining his remark further, he said that the state government has not yet released any fund for any of the proposed permanent development projects; instead, it is busy repairing cracks and doing patchwork. The government appears least interested in any permanent solution, he added.

Stating that former state governments used to release Rs. 40 lakh for road repair, he said that the present state government is releasing only Rs. 15 lakh and that the contractors are not receiving funds sanctioned for infrastructure development because DVS has not yet approved these funds.
Khader also complained that various projects that ought to have been completed years ago are yet to be completed.
The state government has made certain calculations, according to which it plans to release Rs. 30,000 to repair per kilometer of road, said Mr. Khader, expressing doubts of the patchwork lasting for a long time.
Condemning the CM’s remarks against the Lokayukta, he said that DVS is criticizing the Lokayukta just to please former CM B. S. Yeddyurappa and H. D. Deve Gowda. Even if Mudhukar Shetty’s allegations regarding certain Lokayukta officers being corrupt are true, it does not prove the innocence of Kumaraswamy and Yeddyurappa, he added.
Sudhir T. K. and Mohan Mendon were also present during the press conference.
