Congress holds silent protest against government’s discriminatory attitude

Mangaluru, Sep 20, 2022: The District Congress Minority Cell organised a silent protest in front of the Town Hall on September 20, Tuesday to prevail upon the government to treat the families of the slain Praveen Nettaru, Masood and Mohammad Fazil equally. All the three bereaved families must get equal compensation, the protestors demanded.

Masood’s mother and Fazil’s father  garlanded the statue of B R Ambedkar in front of the Town Hall to mark the commencement of the silent protest.

Senior party leader B Ramanatha Rai said the protest is against the discriminatory attitude of the government with regard to the three cases.

Masood’s mother demanded justice for her son, while Fazil’s father said the police are yet to file charge sheet in the case and even before that one of the accused has got bail.

Former MLA  JR Lobo,  DCC Minority Cell Chief Shahul Hameed, Party leaders Mithun Rai, Mamatha Gatti, Suresh Ballal, Ibrahim Kodijal, Abhayachandra Jain and others took part in the protest.
