Car Overturns After Collision Near Badaga Ekkaru, Two Injured

Mangaluru, Jan 11, 2026: Two persons sustained injuries to their hands after a car overturned following a collision with another vehicle near the Badaga Ekkaru Katilu gate on the afternoon of January 10.

The accident occurred when a Fortuner, travelling from Katilu towards Bajpe, swerved at a curve near the gate to avoid an oncoming Etios. The vehicle mounted drinking water pipes lying at the site, lost control and overturned. Both cars were damaged in the mishap.

A series of accidents have been reported along State Highway 67, where road excavation is underway in the Bajpe, Permude and Ekkaru areas for laying drinking water pipelines. Works to straighten road curves are also in progress at Permude and Ekkaru.

With loose soil spread across the road due to the ongoing works, motorists have been advised to drive at moderate speeds. Locals have also cautioned two-wheeler riders to remain alert, as the loose soil poses a risk of skidding.
