Mangaluru, Jun 22, 2026: International Yoga Day and World Music Day were jointly celebrated at Expert Pre-University College, Kodialbail, through a unique programme that highlighted the harmony between yoga and music.
The event was inaugurated by renowned yoga exponent and Dakshina Kannada Rajyotsava awardee Yogaratna Gopalakrishna Delampady, who lit the ceremonial lamp and addressed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, he said yoga helps rejuvenate both the body and mind and promotes overall well-being. He also appreciated the college for encouraging students to practise yoga regularly as part of their daily routine.

As part of the programme, second PUC student and sitar artiste Anika Suri presented a sitar recital, adding a special dimension to the World Music Day celebrations. Through her performance, she rendered several ragas, creating a soothing atmosphere that complemented the yoga demonstrations.
Students of the college showcased various yoga postures and exercises in coordination with musical accompaniment, presenting a captivating blend of yoga and music.
The programme was presided over by the college principal, Prof. Ramachandra Bhat. Programme coordinator and Sanskrit lecturer Apeksha, Kannada lecturer Karunakara Balukooru, faculty members and non-teaching staff were present.
