Mangalore, Apr 17, 2012 : Interacting with reporters during his visit to Shri Chandrashekar Swamiji Ashram in Mulky on April 16 Monday to participate in Mahavishnu Yaga, KPCC President Dr. Parameshwar said that the state government is engrossed in internal conflicts when the entire state is facing severe drought. He suggested that CM Sadananda Gowda must resign as he has proved that he is unfit to run the government.

Further, he said that the centre has sent 3 teams to assess the situation and that they are scheduled to submit their reports by April 21. A copy of the report will also be submitted to Sonia Gandhi, the national president of the Congress, who is scheduled to visit Tumkur on April 28.

Delivering the benedictory address at the religious meeting held at Shri Chandrashekar Ashram in Mulky on April 16 Monday as part of the Maha Vishnu Yaga, Shri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt lauded Chandrashekara Swamiji for his involvement in social welfare activities.


More than 50 scholars from the Bangalore-based Vidyapeetha participated in this yaga, which was held for the sake of world peace and the welfare of the people of Karnataka.


Shrikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar of Mysore presided. Kilapady Govinda Bhat, the renowned astrologer, and his wife Sharadamma, the parents of Chandrashekar Swamiji, were honored as it was the golden jubilee of their married life.


Speaking on the occasion, KPCC President G. Parameshwar spoke about Chandrashekar Swamiji’s social welfare activities, adding that the swamiji is a great example of how people should be devoted to their parents.


Among the dignitaries present were Chandrashekar Swamiji; N. Yogish Bhat, the deputy speaker of the Karnataka State Assembly; Vishweshwar Bha, the journalist; Tara, the president of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy; Ravichandran, the sandalwood star; Krishnaraj Rai, the father of Aishwarya Rai; and many others.


A saxophone recital by Kadri Gopalnath and a musical show from Ravindra Prabhu and his troupe formed the highlights of the occasion.
