Bus drivers accused of sexually harassing minor

Udupi, July 1: A 16-year-old girl was sexually harassed by two drivers of a Tamil Nadu state transport bus, which was plying from Sathyamangalam to Nitte on the night of Wednesday.

 

 

The girl had boarded the bus with her younger brother at Sathyamangalam on the evening of Wednesday. The two were on their way to Nitte to join their parents. 

The two drivers of the bus Ramu (40) and Shivakumar (37) allegedly molested the girl. They forced the boy to sit on another seat, and the helpless girl had to put up with them throughout the journey.

The brother and sister got down at Padubidri in the early morning of Thursday. The girl had noted the mobile numbers of the two drivers and had noted the number of the bus. She informed her parents, who collected a group of relatives and headed over to the Udupi bus stand. 

The group caught hold of the two drivers, who the girl identified, and handed them over to the Padubidri Police Station. The police are currently investigating the case.
