Bhatkal, Sep 10, 2025: In a prompt action under Operation Amanat, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Madgaon successfully traced and returned a passenger’s lost luggage.

Rajesh Mohan Achari, a resident of Murudeshwar in Bhatkal, had boarded train no. 12779 on September 5. In his rush, he accidentally left his bag on Platform No. 1. He later lodged a complaint through Rail Madad (139).

Lost bag returned to owner

During a routine inspection, Head Constable Pawan Singh Khatri discovered the bag near the ramp of the new bridge. After proper verification, RPF officials opened the bag in Achari’s presence. It contained ₹10,000 in cash, clothes worth ₹1,200, an Aadhaar card, RC card, driving license, PAN card, and a charger.

The bag was officially handed back to Achari on Tuesday. He expressed gratitude to the RPF Madgaon team for their quick response and assistance.
