Belthangady, Nov 17, 2025: A 12-year-old boy died and five others were injured after an autorickshaw overturned when the driver allegedly lost control at Hokkila on the Kutrottu–TB Cross Road in Laila village late on November 16.


Auto-rickshaw overturns


The deceased has been identified as Tanvith (12), son of Ganesh and a resident of Kundadka in Navoor village. He succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to a private hospital. The autorickshaw was reportedly driven by Shashi of Navoor.

Five other occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and were admitted to a nearby hospital. The group was travelling to Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala for the Laksha Deepotsava when the accident occurred.

Belthangady traffic police have registered a case and are investigating.
