Bengaluru, Apr 16, 2026: A man threw down his aged and paralysed mother from the fourth floor of his building in Karnataka’s Bengaluru, killing her on the spot, Times of India reported.

The incident occurred at the 3rd Stage, BEML Layout, in RR Nagar, on Wednesday afternoon. Police have arrested Venkatesh C, alias Dasharath, on charges of murdering his 75-year-old mother, Savitramma C.

Mother killed

‘No Signs Of Recovery’

In his confession, cited by TOI, Venkatesh told the police that he was finding it difficult to fund treatment for her mother and that he had to quit his job to be with her.

“My father died around 10 years back and since then, I was looking after my mother. Around five years back, she suffered a stroke and was paralysed. Since she was bedridden, I had to leave my job to care for her. Also, there were no signs of her recovering. Each day, life became miserable for me," said the accused.

The incident came to light when Venkatesh’s house owner, E Vikram, heard a thud at the back of the building.

The police said Vikram, who lives on the ground floor, had rented out two upper floors. “Venkatesh, the accused, lived on the first floor. In the afternoon, around 3 P.M., he lifted his mother, went to the fourth floor and threw her down. She died on the spot", as quoted by the outlet.

Based on Vikram’s statement, the police have registered a case against Venkatesh on charges of murder. A further probe is underway into the matter.
