Nagamangala, Apr 15, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sri Guru Bhairavaikya Mandira dedicated to late seer Balagangadharanatha Swami at Adichunchanagiri Mutt in Nagamangala taluk of Mandya district on Wednesday.
The Guru Bhairavaikya Mandira, built as a memorial to the 71st pontiff, has been constructed in Dravidian architectural style at a cost of Rs 80 crore. The foundation stone for the structure was laid nearly a decade ago.
Following the inauguration, Modi offered prayers at the seer’s statue and his ‘Gadduge’. He also visited Jwalapeetha, believed to be the site where Guru Gorakhnath performed penance, and later offered prayers at the Sri Kala Bhyraveshwara Temple while participating in special pujas.
The Prime Minister, who arrived in Bengaluru in the morning, travelled by helicopter to Adichunchanagiri and then by road to the Mutt.
The event was attended by Adichunchanagiri seer Nirmalanandanatha Swami, Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot, Union Ministers H. D. Kumaraswamy and Shobha Karandlaje, former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda, along with Mandya district in-charge Minister N. Chaluvarayaswamy and Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka, among other dignitaries.
