Belthangady: Bike-car collision, rider succumbs to injuries

Belthangady, Oct 30, 2025: A bike rider who was seriously injured in a collision between a car and a bike near Seva Dhama in Kanyady succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment on October 29.

The deceased has been identified as Chandrahas (28), son of Gangayya Hodikkaru from Navoor village.

Chandrahas was employed in tile-laying work along with his associate Satish. On the morning of October 29, he was riding his bike towards Dharmasthala for work when a car coming from Dharmasthala towards Ujire collided with his bike near Seva Dhama.

The impact threw Chandrahas onto the road, causing severe injuries to his head and leg. He was initially treated at a private hospital in Ujire and later shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The bike was completely damaged in the accident, while the front portion of the car sustained significant damage.

Unmarried, Chandrahas was known to be a skilled kabaddi player. He is survived by his aged parents and two married sisters, with his earnings being the family’s main source of livelihood.
