Mangalore, Jun 15, 2013:Mangalore North MLA Moidin Bava has said a meeting will be held on June 17 in the presence of Urban Development Minister Vinaykumar Sorake to chalk out a comprehensive plan for the development of Suratkal market and also to better infrastructural facilities in the region.
Speaking to reporters here on June 14, Friday, Bava said several incomplete works have hindered the development of Suratkal area. He said there were plans to renovate the Suratkal Market and added he would request the minister to develop it under a PPP model.

He said as promised by him prior to the elections, he would give priority to develop Suratkal and provide all basic amenities. The minister said the meeting will be held at Govinda Dasa college and will be attended by District Minister Ramanatha Rai, Deputy Commissioner Prakash, MCC officials as well as representatives of various organizations of Suratkal including autorickshaw union and taxi drivers association.
He said he would also press for the widening of service road in Suratkal as the present road is quite narrow. He also said Suratkal also needed a fire service station.
Bava said he had already discussed with Health Minister on the need to upgrade the Primary Health Centre at Suratkal.
Bava also informed that a committee named ‘Surathkal Betterment Committee’ under his leadership and with the participation of representatives of various organizations as well as political parties will be formed, to work for the overall development of Suratkal.
