Mulki/Mangaluru, December 24, 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a decisive victory in the recently held Kinnigoli and Bajpe Town Panchayat elections, marking a significant political gain in the region.

In Kinnigoli Town Panchayat, which comprises 18 wards, BJP won 10 seats while Congress secured 8. This was the first election since Kinnigoli was upgraded to a Town Panchayat four years ago, and BJP managed to secure a majority in the inaugural polls held on December 21.

Following the counting of votes, BJP supporters celebrated the victory with enthusiasm. The celebrations were attended by MLA Umanath Kotian, BJP district vice-president Sunil Alva, Mulki Town Panchayat president Satish Anchan, Mandal president Dinesh Putran, and other party leaders.

Bajpe Town Panchayat Election: BJP Secures Clear Majority

In the first-ever election for Bajpe Town Panchayat, BJP won a clear majority, securing 11 of the 19 wards. Congress won 4 seats, SDPI won 3, and one seat went to an independent candidate. The counting of votes was conducted on Wednesday at the Mangaluru Mini Vidhana Soudha.
