Belthangady, Jun 2, 2026: Belthangady police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a 32-year-old man whose body was found under suspicious circumstances near Guruvayanakere.

The deceased has been identified as Yatheesh Gowda, a resident of Perne in Bantwal taluk. The accused have been identified as Yashodhara (35) of Mithabagilu in Belthangady taluk, Mohan (30) of Charvaka in Kadaba, and Ibrahim (54) of Padangady.


Murder case

Yatheesh’s body was discovered on Monday morning in the premises of Sridevi Complex at Aladikottige near Guruvayanakere. Based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s brother, Belthangady police registered a case and launched an investigation.

During the probe, police examined CCTV footage from the area, which revealed evidence pointing to a murder. The deceased’s brother had expressed suspicion that Yatheesh died following an assault by the accused.

Acting on the findings from the CCTV footage and other evidence, police tracked down and arrested the three suspects.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Dr. Arun Kumar, Additional SP Anil Kumar Bhooma Reddy, Belthangady Sub-Division DySP Rohini C.K., Belthangady Sub-Inspector Sikandar Pasha and his team, along with the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) team and other officials, visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
