Bhopal, Jun 2, 2026: A court in Bhopal on Tuesday remanded Samarth Singh, husband of late model Twisha Sharma, and his mother Giribala Singh, both accused in a dowry harassment case, to 14 days of judicial custody after the completion of their CBI remand.
Twisha Sharma was found hanging at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12, triggering an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) produced Samarth Singh and Giribala Singh, a retired district judge, before the court of Shobhna Bhalave after their custodial interrogation ended. The court subsequently sent both accused to judicial custody until June 16, according to Ankur Pandey, counsel for Twisha’s family.
On Monday, the CBI conducted a reconstruction of the alleged suicide at the victim’s residence using dummies as part of its investigation. Officials said the exercise was carried out in the presence of forensic and crime scene experts.
During the reconstruction, investigators asked the accused to provide a detailed account of the events that took place on the night of May 12, when Twisha was found dead.
