Mangalore, Dec 29, 2012: One can certainly mistake this to be a scene lifted straight from a Bollywood potboiler. But that’s not the case to be. A burkha clad youngster was caught by the public near Besant College in Mangalore on December 28, Friday noon, along with a girl.

But, the poor young man had committed the blunder of wearing a burkha and throw dust at the eyes of the public, solely for the sake of his sweet heart who had yearned to meet him.

The young lovers who had faced the ire of their parents over their affair, on Friday afternoon had chosen to meet secretly. Ajith decided to have a good time with his sweet heart, by wearing a burkha. But for his bad luck, some people noticed his blue Converse Shoes. That’s not all, even the shawl on his head slipped and lo ! Everyone around was surprised.

The traffic police on duty was summoned and the youngsters narrated their plight, the boy was Ajith who hailed from Udupi, while the girl, a Mangalorean. Both were relatives, but still faced opposition to their affair.

They were taken to the Barke station where their love story unraveled. The girl’s mother was summoned to the station and the two were released with a warning.

No case has been registered.
