Kota: RSS leader killed as car hits cyclist on NH 66

Kota, Oct 26, 2026: A cyclist was killed on the spot after a car hit him at Kota Junction on National Highway 66 in the early hours of Monday.
The deceased was identified as Belur Gurudas Shenoy, a resident of Manur in Kota and an RSS leader.
According to reports, Gurudas Shenoy was crossing the road on his bicycle at Kota Junction when a speeding car travelling from Udupi towards Kundapura hit him. The impact caused the car to lose control and overturn, while the cyclist was thrown onto the road and died on the spot.
The car driver, Pradeep Kanchan, a resident of Bijadi in Koteshwar, sustained serious injuries in the accident. Nagaraj Putran, a local resident known for helping accident victims, assisted in shifting the injured driver by ambulance to a private hospital in Brahmavar.
Kota police visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
