Bengaluru, Oct 26, 2026: Bengaluru cybercrime police have questioned Kripa Alva, a Congress leader from Dakshina Kannada, in connection with the alleged sting operation involving former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
According to sources, Alva appeared before the investigating officer on multiple occasions, most recently on Saturday. She was allowed to leave after her statement was recorded. She has not been arrested in the case, sources said.
Police have already arrested Ritesh Pandey, a 22-year-old man from Ghaziabad, in connection with the case. He is currently out on bail.
The controversy has drawn widespread attention across Karnataka, with Siddaramaiah and his son, Urban Development Minister Yathindra, commenting on the alleged sting operation.
Speaking in Mysuru, Siddaramaiah alleged that Kripa Alva and Rakesh Shetty, managing director of Kannada television channel Power TV, were behind the sting operation.
“Shetty has confessed to the police that he has done it. There is no truth in the allegation. It is done to blackmail me. It is totally concocted. Truth has to come out. People should know that the allegation is not true. Hence, I have lodged the complaint,” Siddaramaiah had said.
