Mangalore, Dec 18, 2011: The India Section of Pierre Fauchard Academy held its silver jubilee convocation and awards ceremony at Hotel Ocean Pearl on Dec 17 Saturday, during which 43 new fellows were inducted and honored with certificates and medals. 


Prof. Dibyendu Mazumder, the president of the Dental Council of India, was the chief guest of the event. Speaking on the need for more dentists, he said that modern dentists hardly serve rural people, owing to which they are deprived of medical facilities. 


NITTE University Chancellor N. V. Hegde was the guest of honor.

All the BDS toppers from various universities were honored on this occasion in the presence of dignitaries such as Academy Chairman Dr. U. S. Krishna Nayak, Secretary Dr. T. Samaraj, Prof. Hari Prakash, and others.
