CBI books Delhi man for posing as PMO official

Mangalore Today News Network

New Delhi, Sep 4, 2026: The CBI has registered a case against a South Delhi resident who was allegedly posing as a Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) official to secure preferential emergency treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), officials said.

It is alleged in the complaint filed by the PMO that Ravi Kant Sharma, a Sangam Vihar resident, falsely claimed to be an Officer on Special Duty to the Prime Minister to pressure B N Acharya, a protocol officer at AIIMS, to arrange a priority emergency admission and treatment for a patient at the crowded prestigious Institute.

The PMO confirmed that Sharma was never employed as an Officer on Special Duty.

The CBI also found that Sharma had used the ruse to obtain priority hospital services for other patients, which were accorded to him as hospital staff believed him to be an authorised official. PTI ABS AMJ AMJ
