Mangaluru, Sep 4, 2026: As per the Railway Board’s directives, a 16-coach Vande Bharat Express will undergo another trial run between Yeshwantpur and Mangaluru Central on September 5.

The trial run is aimed primarily at assessing and finalising the train’s timetable. As per the proposed schedule, the train will depart from Yeshwantpur at 6.05 am and travel via Hassan, Subrahmanya and Padil before reaching Mangaluru Central at 2.25 pm.

On the return journey, the train is scheduled to depart from Mangaluru Central at 3 pm and reach Yeshwantpur at 11 pm.

An earlier trial run was conducted on August 12 through the challenging ghat section between Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya Road to assess the train’s technical feasibility. While that trial focused mainly on technical aspects, the September 5 run will focus specifically on monitoring and assessing the travel time.

The proposed schedule estimates a journey time of 8 hours and 20 minutes between Yeshwantpur and Mangaluru Central. The Railway Chief Controller has instructed the concerned officials to ensure that the train completes the trial run within the specified time frame.
