4-day Laksha Deepotsava launched at Shri Krishna Temple

Udupi, 8, Nov 2011 : Shri Krishna Temple, located on Car Street, inaugurated a 4-day Laksha Deepotsava on Monday. Lord Krishna is worshipped with tulasi leaves for 11 days starting from the day of Diwali and the twelfth day is considered to be Laksha Deepotsava. Ksheerabdhi or milk offerings were made to Lord Krishna in front of tulasi, after which Teppotsava was held in Madhwa Sarovara.

Just before these rituals were conducted, Shri Laxmivara Teertha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt, Shri Vidyadeesha Teertha Swamiji of Palimaru Mutt, and Shri Vidyavallabha Teertha Swamiji of Kaniyoor lit lamps before Lord Krishna.

Car Street looked attractive in the light of thousands of lamps lit by devotees.
