25 youngsters ordained as Deacons at St Joseph’s Seminary

Mangalore, Jun 14, 2013: As many as twenty five youngsters belonging to various dioceses were ordained deacons at a ceremony held  at St Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu here on June 14, Friday.

Dr Varghese Chakkalakal, Bishop of Calicut, presided over the Holy Eucharist and ordained the Deacons. In his Homily Dr Varghese highlighted the role of Deacons and serve Jesus Christ with unstinted devotion and faith.

 Fr Joseph Martis,Rector of the Seminary was among others present.  The newly ordained deacons were also honoured on the occasion. A large number of priests, sisters, seminarians, family and friends of the deacons were present.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Of the 25 deacons ordained, five each are from Mangalore and Calicut Dioceses., two each from Udupi and Gulbarga Dioceses and OCD, 4 from the Congregation of SCJ and one each from Gumla, Shimoga, Raigarh, Kannur and Simdega.
