17th National Youth Festival to commence shortly

Mangalore, Jan 12, 2012: The city of Mangalore has been decorated for the past seven days to prepare it for the 17th edition of the National Youth Festival, which is scheduled to be held on Jan 12 – 16.

A number of participants have already reached TMA Pai Convention Centre, one of the venues for this mega youth festival. They are now busy getting their identification cards. The venue also witnessed a few quarrels between the participants and those who are in-charge of distributing identification cards.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Although the district administration announced at 10:00 a.m. that the Aharotsava and Yuva Krithi on Karavali Utsav Ground have been inaugurated, the stalls were empty and lifeless. Reportedly, those responsible were not informed about the inauguration ceremony. Some of them said that it is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., some others felt that the inauguration will be between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., while still others felt that it will be inaugurated before 4:00 p.m.

The National Youth Festival inauguration ceremony will commence at 5:30 p.m.
