Mangaluru, Dec 28, 2025: An 11-year-old girl sustained burn injuries after two men allegedly intercepted her father’s motorcycle on suspicion of carrying beef on the Malali–Narlapadavi Road under the Bajpe Police Station limits on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred around 10 a.m. when Abdul Sattar Mullarpatna was travelling on a motorcycle with his minor daughter. Police said the accused, identified as Sumit Bhandari (21) and Rajat Naik (30), both residents of Yedapadavu, allegedly blocked the motorcycle by placing a Tata Sumo across the road.

In the process, the girl reportedly fell from the two-wheeler and suffered a burn injury to her leg after coming into contact with the motorcycle’s silencer. In her statement to the police, the minor alleged that her father was assaulted by the accused after she fell.
Following the incident, Abdul Sattar is said to have fled the spot, while local residents rushed the injured girl to a hospital. Her statement was recorded by the police at the hospital.
The Bajpe police have registered an FIR against the two accused for alleged moral policing and unlawful obstruction. During questioning, the accused claimed they were travelling to Maharshi Clinic to deliver medicines, a claim denied by the clinic’s doctor. They also told the police they were heading to a temple but failed to specify which temple when questioned separately, raising further suspicion.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a suo motu case against Abdul Sattar Mullarpatna for allegedly transporting beef without valid bills or documents. According to the police, around 19 kg of beef was seized from him, allegedly without the required documentation.
