1,000 litres of illegally stocked spirit seized, two arrested

Moodbidri, April 28: Two persons were arrested for illegally storing rectified spirit in a residential house located at Puchchamogru village, Moodabidre on April 27.

 

 

 

 

It is said that the arrest were made on the night of Tuesday. A team led by Excise inspectors, K S Rajshekhar, Dayanand, V S Gundu and M Vishwanath have raided the residential house and confiscated 1,000 litres of rectified spirit, which was stored illegally inside the room. The officials have also succeeded to arrest Dinesh Poojary and Shivanand Poojary.

When Mangaloretoday contacted the officials of excise department, they revealed that the master mind behind the liquor net is Brijesh, son of Bhaskar. But the officials are in a try to catch him.

The excise officials have conducted raid under the guidance of K Bheemappa, excise joint commissioner of Mangalore division and N M Hussain, excise deputy commissioner, Dakshina Kannada district. A case against both culprits has been lodged in this regard.
