New Delhi, May 11, 2025: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday reiterated India’s steadfast stance against terrorism, asserting that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the nation has adopted a zero-tolerance policy. “This is the new India,” Singh declared, “one that will take effective action against terrorism on both sides of the border.”
Referring to past counter-terrorism measures, Singh recalled the surgical strikes following the 2016 Uri attack and the Balakot airstrikes conducted in response to the 2019 Pulwama attack.
Highlighting India’s recent response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Singh pointed to Operation Sindoor, which he described as a decisive military action. In a post on X, he remarked, “Now the world is seeing, after the Pahalgam incident, how India has entered Pakistan and carried out multiple strikes.”
Singh further elaborated, stating, “Operation Sindoor is not just a military action, but a symbol of India’s political, social, and strategic will. This operation is a demonstration of India’s strong resolve against terrorism and the capability of its military power. We have shown that whenever India acts against terrorism, even the land across the border will not be safe for terrorists and their masters.”
Earlier in the day, Singh virtually inaugurated the BrahMos Aerospace Integration and Testing Facility in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Speaking at the event, he reiterated that Operation Sindoor exemplified India’s unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism, highlighting the synergy between political will and military prowess.
Singh’s remarks come amid heightened tensions with Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack, which left 26 people dead. India’s decisive response, including multiple strikes under Operation Sindoor, has been widely seen as a strong message against cross-border terrorism.
