New Delhi, May 31, 2025: Errol Musk, father of tech titan Elon Musk, touches down in New Delhi on June 1st for his first-ever visit to the country. And while he’s not building rockets or tweeting crypto memes, his week-long trip is grabbing serious attention across both boardrooms and ministries.
The 78-year-old South African engineer-turned-entrepreneur isn’t here for sightseeing alone. His visit marks a deliberate foray into India’s emerging green energy sector—led by his recent appointment to the Global Advisory Board of Servotech Power Systems, an emerging player in EV charging and solar infrastructure.
He’s expected to tour Servotech’s manufacturing unit, meet key cabinet ministries, and engage with India’s top technocrats as the country races toward its 2070 net-zero emissions goal.
Why Errol, Why Now?
Errol Musk has long existed on the fringes of his son’s stratospheric rise. Elon has described their relationship as ’complex’ and, at times, distant. But that hasn’t stopped Errol from making his own moves—and India appears to be his next big bet.
Errol Musk has a background in infrastructure development and energy-related projects in South Africa. He holds an engineering degree and has worked across sectors including construction, consulting, and property development. His appointment to Servotech Power Systems’ Global Advisory Board comes as the company expands its presence in the electric vehicle and solar technology space.
Servotech’s Managing Director, Raman Bhatia, has described the move as strategic, hinting at global ambitions for the Noida-based company.
A Family Affair?
Errol’s trip follows on the heels of another Musk family headline: Maye Musk’s April visit to Mumbai, where the former model and dietitian launched the Hindi edition of her memoir at the glitzy NMACC gala. She celebrated Indian culture and couture on Instagram, calling the country “vibrant, beautiful, and unforgettable”.
Now Errol’s journey adds another layer to the family’s growing curiosity about India. Whether it’s tourism, business, or soft diplomacy—the Musk orbit seems to be drawing closer to the subcontinent.
Beyond the Factory Floor
In between meetings, cultural engagements are also on the cards; Errol is slated to visit Ayodhya. But the real story might be behind closed doors—where his presence could open conversations around India’s energy policies, tech manufacturing potential, and global green partnerships.
India isn’t new to billionaires. But what makes Errol’s visit stand out is the symbolism. It’s not just about business cards and factory tours—it’s about a Musk planting a flag in a space where India is taking big strides.
And this time, it’s not Elon. It’s Errol.
