Mangalore, Nov. 10, 2011: The extension of the tri-weekly day-time Bangalore - Mangalore train to Karwar has been approved and the train will run its extended services from November 14. However, the train will not enter the central station and commuters will have to catch it at the under-developed station Mangalore Junction at Padil.
A press release by the Railways said here on Thursday that train no.16515 Yesvantpur–Mangalore Express, which leaves Yesvantpur on November 14, will be extended to Karwar. Train no. 16516, which is now leaving from Mangalore Central, will leave from Karwar from November 15. The release said that these trains will not come to Mangalore Central and will touch Mangalore Junction only.
These trains will stop at Udupi, Mookambika Road, Bhatkal and Kumta over the extended portion between Mangalore Junction and Karwar stations, it added.
