Mangaluru, March 20, 2023: The Desha  Premi Sanghatanegala Okkuta along with the family of the slain RTI activist Vinayak Baliga will be taking out a march  from near the Carstreet Venkataramana Temple till the residence of Baliga, seeking justice in this case on March 21. It may be recalled here that Vinayak Baliga was brutally murdered on March 21, 2016.

 

A release from the Desha Premi Sanghatanegala Okkuta said, "The trial is on and hearings are going on. We have full faith in the judiciary, the work of Vinayak Baliga as a social reformer and RTI activist has to be remembered. As usual we are having a procession from SVT temple, Car street to his home at 4.00 pm on 21st of March, 2023."

The trial in the murder case was started at the sixth district and sessions court nearly six years after he was brutally murdered.

 Vinayak Baliga was hacked to death near his house in Kodailbail in the city on March 21, 2016. Police filed charge sheet against Naresh Shenoy, Shrikanth, Shivaprasad, Vinit Poojary, Nishit Devadiga, Shailesh and Manjunath Shenoy. The case against another accused Vignesh Nayak got abated following his suicide in November 2020.
