Mangalore, jan 31, 2012 : A 40-year-old man, who was admitted to Vijaya Clinic, died allegedly due to medical negligence on Jan 30 Monday.
The deceased Anil Raj was a painting contractor who was rushed to the hospital because he fainted at his house in Bikarnakatte on Monday morning.
The doctors, who found that his blood pressure was lower than normal, gave him an injection.
According to Anil’s family members, the doctors were unaware that Anil was a diabetic and that the injection they gave him increased his sugar level.
At 3:30 p.m., Anil had a cardiac arrest. His family says that he died because of medical negligence as well as lack of proper coordination and communication among the doctors.
The doctors say that the only thing they could have done when Anil was brought for treatment was to give him the injection. However, they admitted that they had no idea that the patient was diabetic.
Vinay Gaonkar, the circle inspector of Bunder Police Station, police officer Ramakrishna, and other police personnel rushed to the scene.
