Venur Bahubali Mastakabhisheka will commence on Jan 28

Mangalore, June 19: The Mahamastakabhisheka of Bahubali in Venur will be held on Jan 28 to Feb 5, 2012.

Dr. D. Veerendra Hegde, the dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala, who is also the president of the Mahamastakabhisheka Committee, said on Saturday that a number of reception committees and sub committees have been formed to ensure the success of the event. Seers and religious leaders will deliver a number of discourses and cultural and literary programmes will form part of the event. The organizers also expect devotees from other states to participate in the event.

A book on the history of Gomateshwara, written by poet Padmanabha who lived during the first half of the eighteenth century, will be republished on this occasion.
