Ullal unrest: Home minister issues stern warning to communal forces

Bangalore, Feb 8, 2014 : Issuing a stern warning to riot-mongers, home minister K J George said that zero tolerance would be shown towards those who attempt to disturb the peace in society.

kj george 1 The home minster’s warning comes in the wake of communal unrest in coastal town of Ullal, where a series of untoward incidents and nightmarish rumours led to the imposition of prohibitory orders.

“Karnataka is known for peace in the entire nation. If anybody tries to trigger communal riots in this peaceful land, government will be merciless towards them,” he said at a programme here.

Stating that communal forces in the state are desperately trying to create unrest in the region ahead of impending Lok Sabha elections, Mr George urged the police to take necessary steps to thwart the conspiracies of anti-social elements.
