Ullal: Man set to return to Israel for work dies by suicide

Ullal, May 12, 2026: A 42-year-old man who was preparing to return to Israel for work allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Hoyge, Ullal, on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Surya Prakash D’Souza, a resident of Hoyge in Ullal. He had been working in Israel for the past one year and had recently returned home to attend his brother’s wedding ceremony. He was scheduled to travel back to Israel on May 17.

According to reports, Surya Prakash was found hanging inside his room in the early hours of Monday. The incident came to light when his mother entered the room.

It is suspected that he may have taken the extreme step due to health-related issues, as he had reportedly been suffering from persistent chest pain for some time and was undergoing treatment.

A case has been registered at the Ullal Police Station and further investigation is underway.
