Udupi washroom video case: CID team completes first phase of probe; awaits FSL report

Udupi, Aug 16, 2023: A CID team which is investigating into the case of alleged filming of a student in the washroom of a private paramedical college in Udupi, has completed its first phase of probe and is expected to submit its report soon. It is learnt, the CID team which was in Udupi till recently, has already left for Bengaluru and is presently awaiting FSL report.

 

The probe was conducted by DySP Anjumala Nayak under the supervision of ADGP (CID) Manish Kharbikar.

The CID team as part of its investigation had recorded the statements of the accused students, victim, college authorities and all other people with regard to the incident.

It may be recalled here that the BJP had staged several protests to condemn the incident and to demand a thorough probe.

The Congress meanwhile had accused the BJP of trying to give a communal colour to the incident only for the reason that the victim and accused students belonged to different communities.
